The Ghost in the Shell has released its fifth promotional video, giving fans their first listen to the anime’s opening theme, “GO GHOST,” by King Gnu. The 47-second trailer also showcases new footage from Science SARU’s upcoming adaptation of Masamune Shirow’s original manga ahead of its July 7 premiere.
The trailer blends quick-cut action sequences with atmospheric cyberpunk visuals, highlighting the series’ modern animation style while remaining faithful to the iconic aesthetic established by Masamune Shirow’s original manga.

King Gnu Performs the Opening Theme
One of the trailer’s biggest reveals is the debut of “GO GHOST,” the anime’s opening theme performed by King Gnu. The band’s energetic sound accompanies the rapid-fire footage, setting the tone for the upcoming series.
The ending theme, “Blue,” will be performed by MILLENNIUM PARADE featuring Saya Gray and Daniel Caesar.
Science SARU Leads a New Adaptation
The 2026 Ghost in the Shell anime is a new television adaptation based on Masamune Shirow’s original 1989 manga. The project is produced by a committee including Bandai Namco Filmworks, Kodansha, Production I.G, and Science SARU, with Prime Video streaming the series internationally beginning July 7.
