The Ghost in the Shell 2026 | Ending Theme Revealed in New Trailer

The Ghost in the Shell 2026 ending theme has been officially revealed as “Blue,” a collaborative track by creative collective MILLENNIUM PARADE featuring alternative artist Saya Gray and R&B vocalist Daniel Caesar.

The track announcement arrived alongside the fourth promotional video for the upcoming TV anime, offering the first audio preview of the theme paired with new production footage from animation studio Science SARU.

The choice of artists makes a new sonic direction for the adaptation. MILLENNIUM PARADE, led by King Gnu frontman Daiki Tsuneta, previously provided the opening themes for the CGI series Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. For Science Saru’s iteration, the collective leans into a more atmospheric, bass-heavy alternative R&B sound rather than aggressive electronic or industrial cyberpunk beats.

Production History of “Blue”

According to creative lead Daiki Tsuneta, the foundation for the song was established three years ago during a collaborative recording session with Saya Gray. The track remained unreleased until Tsuneta integrated Daniel Caesar’s vocals during an international trip. Gray, who has previously worked as a touring bassist for Caesar, serves as the creative bridge connecting the performers.

The trailer utilizes a slower editing rhythm to highlight the track. Rather than emphasizing heavy tactical engagements or Section 9 firefights, the 36-second preview focuses on character-driven cuts, centering on Motoko Kusanagi against the retro-inspired urban backdrops that evoke the aesthetic of Masamune Shirow’s original 1980s manga.

Staff & Broadcast Schedule

The project serves as the directorial debut for animator Moko-chan. Series composition is handled by Akutagawa Prize-winning sci-fi author Toh Enjo, with character designs provided by Shuhei Handa.

An early North American premiere screening covering the first two episodes will take place at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles on Saturday, July 4, hosted by Bandai Namco Filmworks and Science SARU. The official television broadcast for the series begins shortly after on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, airing on Fuji TV’s late-night programming block in Japan.
