Chaos LCC Fan Translation Patch Hitting PC and Switch in 2026

The fan translation for the Love Chu Chu spin-offs is finally entering its final stretch. Fan translation group Committee of Zero published a new progress report confirming that the Chaos LCC translation patch Double Pack is on track to release this year, in 2026.

The translation team has locked the main text files after a year of community testing. The English scripts for both Chaos;Head Love Chu Chu! and Chaos;Child Love Chu Chu! are basically finished, needing just one last quick pass from the head translator. All the extra assets, like translated images, songs, and video subtitles, are completely done, leaving only the closing credits still in development.

What is Finished?

Instead of just slapping text over the original games, the developers have spent the last ten months rewriting parts of the game engine to make these titles run smoothly on modern platforms. Here is what is already working:

  • Menus and UI: The heavily animated Chaos;Head LCC menus are 100% complete. The Chaos;Child LCC menus are 95% done, with only the signature screen smoke effect left to code.
  • Subtitles and Visual Effects: Subtitles are now built directly into the engine, allowing the patch to display English lyrics during songs. All 20 custom visual effects, transitions, and screen fades are fully functional.
  • Controls and Systems: The series’ signature Delusion Triggers are completely coded and working. The team also added full mouse support, custom keyboard controls, and standard PC features like exit prompts.

What is Left to Do?

The final stretch of development focuses on the setup files, multi-platform installers, and fine-tuning the text layout. To use the patch, you will need a Japanese copy of the game files, which the new setup tool will use to install the English version with a few clicks.

The remaining to-do list before the 1.0.0 release includes finishing a custom achievement system that mimics the original console versions with pop-up notifications. The team is also building simple installers for desktop computers, alongside easy drag-and-drop versions for hacked Nintendo Switch consoles and Android devices. Finally, developers are tweaking the font settings so that dialogue boxes, backlogs, and tutorial tips all display correctly without cut-off words or messy margins.

Release Window Plan

Committee of Zero reaffirmed that the patch pack will launch before the end of 2026. While they are not giving a specific day just yet, the plan is to release the finished translation files around the autumn calendar dates when the stories actually take place in the games. The release will also be timed so it does not drop right on top of the upcoming official release of Steins;Gate Re:Boot.
