The JDM: Japanese Drift Master PS5 physical release details are officially locked in by Curveball Games and Gaming Factory. The boxed retail version will land on store shelves on August 14th, 2026, specifically for the PlayStation 5 platform.

Retail pricing is set at ยฃ34.99 in EMEA markets, $39.99 in North America, and โ‚ฌ39.99 across European regions. This physical rollout continues the publishing partnership between both studios following the game’s digital console launch earlier this year.

Distribution & Release Details

Moving an independent title from a digital storefront onto retail store shelves is a major step for a mid-tier studio like Poland-based Gaming Factory. The game originally found its audience on PC back in 2025 before making its way over to home consoles digitally in February 2026.

While selling digital copies directly to consumers keeps overhead low, physical retail distribution requires a completely different approach. Stamping Blu-ray discs, printing packaging, and shipping boxes to major retailers requires significant capital investment before a single copy is actually sold. Curveball Games is managing these distribution logistics, using their established retail networks to bring the physical copies to market. Pre-orders are currently open through Curveballโ€™s direct retail outlet, The Game Collection, as well as major brick-and-mortar retailers across North America and EMEA.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master Key Features

The game focuses entirely on Japanese car culture, using a hand-drawn, animated Manga comic style to tell its story. Players drive through Guntama, a fictional Japanese prefecture that combines tourist landmarks and legendary drift spots into a single open world. The physical retail copy includes the full base game along with its pre-existing digital updates and vehicle expansion packs on the disc.

  • Environmental Obstacles: The open world includes a full day/night cycle and dynamic weather conditions that actively change track grip.
  • The Map: Guntama features over 250 kilometers of interconnected roads, including narrow rural mountain passes, wide highways, and city streets.
  • Handling Options: The physics engine offers two separate profiles: an automated Arcade mode for casual play and a raw Simcade setting.
  • Simcade Handling: Turning on Simcade mode completely cuts out driving assists, putting full control of vehicle weight and drift angles onto player skill.
  • Tuning & Vehicles: Modifying vehicle geometry and suspension parts directly changes how weight shifts during a drift. The roster includes iconic choices like the classic AE86 hatchback, which requires quick, precise steering inputs to catch and hold a slide.
