DEAD OR ALIVE 6: Last Round Release Date Set for June 25

The DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round release date is scheduled for June 25, 2026. Koei Tecmo and Team NINJA dropped a new trailer confirming the definitive fighting package is heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.

Mai Shiranui Returns: Full Roster & KOF DLC

A promotional graphic confirming the DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round release date for the King of Fighters DLC, showing Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond with their debut costumes.

The King of Fighters XIV crossover characters Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond return to the roster. Both will be available as downloadable content right at launch, bundled with a five-piece costume set.

THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIV Collaboration Trailer

The base game packages the original 24 fighters with five characters from the previous DLC cycles: Nyotengu, Phase 4, Momiji, Rachel, and Tamaki. Kasumi and Marie Rose are also getting five new outfits based on other Team NINJA properties.

Katana Engine Upgrades & Oboro Shadows

Team NINJA is introducing a new lighting system to the Katana Engine called “Oboro.” The system uses natural ambient light and realistic shadows to upgrade the visual fidelity of the arenas. The “Lost Paradise” stage is the first to feature this upgrade. The development team plans to release free Oboro versions of other stages as they finish them.

The Free-to-Play Core Fighters Option

The free-to-play Core Fighters edition returns alongside the premium release. Players can use Marie Rose, Honoka, and NiCO from day one without buying the full game. This free version also provides access to Photo Mode, DOA Quest, and the DOA Central online modes.

PC Performance & Nobara Compatibility

Fighting games live and die by consistent frame pacing. For the Steam version, the original DOA6 handled Proton and Linux environments without much hassle. The new Oboro lighting system will be the primary technical variable here. We will need to test if the enhanced ambient shadows cause any shader compilation stutter during stage transitions on Linux.
