Red Art Games announced that Sonic Wings Reunion, a shoot ’em up from SUCCESS Corporation, will launch in the west on October 7 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. European players can expect multiple physical editions, with full details releasing alongside pre-orders starting May 27 at 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET.

The PC version will likely be available globally.

Set in the near future, the game’s story follows the secret rescue team “Project Blue” as they confront the shadowy organization “Fata Morgana,” which threatens cities worldwide with advanced superweapons. This new entry in the Sonic Wings series (known as Aero Fighters in the west) is a collaboration between SUCCESS, HAMSTER Corporation, and veteran developers from previous titles.

Produced by Shinya Nagatomo (Cotton Rock’n’Roll), it features character designs by Fumihiko Nantoka and sound design from series veteran Soshi Hosoi.

Key Features:

  • Over eight playable characters, each with unique aircraft and abilities
  • Eight diverse stages spanning the globe
  • Local co-op mode for shared play
  • Multiple difficulty options
  • Fully customizable training mode
  • Tate mode support (vertical screen orientation)
  • Customizable soundtrack with new tracks and classic tunes from the series
  • Option to switch the title screen between Sonic Wings Reunion and Aero Fighters Reunion
  • Extensive language support

This latest Sonic Wings installment promises a fresh but familiar shoot ’em up experience with plenty of fan service and quality improvements.
