Capcom has released a new Resident Evil Requiem patch across all platforms, bringing the title to version 1.3.1. This patch focuses primarily on balancing the “Leon Must Die Forever” minigame, a combat-focused challenge mode introduced in the 1.3 update.
Minigame Balancing & Skill Enhancements
The update targets the “Leon Must Die Forever” minigame to refine the difficulty curve and expand player tactical options. Players who have struggled with the early stages of the mode may find the adjustments helpful:
- Difficulty Reduction: The difficulty for Forever – Rank 1 and Forever – Rank 2 has been lowered.
- Skill Enhancements: Several skills were improved to allow for a broader variety of enhancer combinations.
- Explosives Specialist: Greatly increased the probability that hand grenades are not consumed upon use.
- Throwing+: Increased the percentage of attack power boosts provided to hand grenades and other throwable weapons.
- Strategist: Extended the skill’s duration and increased its attack power boost percentage.
In addition to these specific changes, the patch includes fixes for minor issues within the game. While players have noted these changes, some feedback suggests that higher-rank challenges in the mode remain significantly difficult, maintaining the intense pressure and reliance on high-level mechanics that characterize the later stages of the minigame.
Resident Evil Requiem is available on Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Curious on how it plays? Read our spoiler-free audit here.
