After years of anticipation and plenty of speculation, Persona 6 announced its arrival. Developer ATLUS officially pulled back the curtain on the next mainline entry in its flagship RPG franchise, confirming it will land on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
While the team is keeping a specific release date under wraps for now, the announcement marks a major milestone for a series that has pulled in over 30 million copies worldwide.

A Clean Slate In Modern-Day Japan
For those worried about jumping into a franchise with thirty years of history, ATLUS is treating Persona 6 as a completely fresh starting point. The game introduces an entirely new cast of characters and a standalone narrative, requiring zero familiarity with prior entries to get invested.
The core mechanics that defined the series’ massive growth starting with Persona 3 remains the main pillar here. Players will navigate a dual-life system set against the backdrop of modern Japan. By day, you handle the routine of high school life, building friendships and pursuing romance. By night, the focus shifts to investigating occult incidents, strange urban legends, and the supernatural rumors spreading beneath the surface of familiar streets.
Mechanically, the social link mechanic returns to drive your progression. The bonds and personal relationships you cultivate during the day directly empower your party’s combat capabilities, translating those emotional connections into literal weapons against the darkness.
We will keep you updated as ATLUS shares more details on the project.
