Gameplay Overview Summary

Close-up of the Dohatsu-ten demon in Onimusha Way of the Sword.

The new footage showcases protagonist Miyamoto Musashi engaging a high-speed, winged Genma demon named Dohatsu-ten. Director Satoru Nihei used the showcase to demonstrate strict parry windows and defensive spacing mechanics, reaffirming that the combat engine leans into deliberate arcade-style swordplay instead of modern stamina-management loops.

A playable public demo featuring a separate mid-game boss fight is currently available to download on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC storefronts.
