Nioh 3 | 1.06 & 1.07 Patch Notes

Nioh 3 patch notes for updates 1.06.00 and 1.07.00 are detailed below, breaking down a massive wave of economy fixes and balance overhauls that hit the game over the last few weeks.

Instead of making you read through a dry list of numbers, we have stripped out the fluff to explain exactly how these changes affect your daily farming routes and endgame setups. Together, these two patches completely restructure how you gear up for the post-game.

The Endgame Grind Just Got Way Easier (Patch 1.06)

If you have been struggling with the late-game loop, patch 1.06 is a massive win. Team Ninja heavily adjusted the Stone of Penance mechanic to respect your time.

  • Farm Wherever You Want: You no longer have to live inside the Crucible. Activating a Stone of Penance now boosts drop rates everywhere else in the world to match the Crucible’s baseline. If you prefer open-world missions, you can farm them without losing out on loot efficiency.
  • Easier Level 161+ Gear: Drop rates for Level 161+ gear are much higher while using the Stone. You also get more gold per run, making soul matching less of a financial headache.
  • Guaranteed Divine Drops: Clearing bases, Lesser Crucibles, Myth, or Master missions as repeated memory recalls now hands out guaranteed divine gear and items with much higher plus-values.
  • Faster Combat Pacing: Certain human enemies will not hide behind their guards constantly anymore. This keeps combat moving quickly and stops fights from turning into tedious staring contests.

Meta Shift: Attack vs. Damage Scaling (Patch 1.07)

Patch 1.07 focuses almost entirely on your armor and weapon sets. The most important change is a technical text swap that completely alters how your damage is calculated. Team Ninja changed several major sets from an Attack Bonus to a Damage Bonus.

Here is why that matters to you: an Attack Bonus simply increases your raw base attack stat, which falls off hard in the late game. A Damage Bonus acts as a true multiplier for your final output. If you run any of the following builds, your damage output just went up significantly:

  • Strength Builds: General of Ruin, Kintaro, and First of the Four Guardians now scale directly with Damage Bonus (Strength).
  • Heart and Constitution Builds: Single Sword’s Reverie, The Tragic Hero, and Warrior of the East now use true Damage Bonus multipliers based on your core stats.
  • Magic and Stat Graces: Grace of Jurojin (Magic), Grace of Fukurokuju (Constitution), and Grace of Vaisravana (Strength) all swap to this superior damage multiplier system.

Key Grace Buffs

  • Grace of Benzaiten: The 6-piece bonus extends the duration of your damage stacks, giving you a wider window to keep your damage at peak potential during boss fights.
  • Grace of Kuzuryu: Poison builds get a noticeable bump with increased melee damage against poisoned targets and better status accumulation.

Important Bug Fixes You Will Notice Immediately

  • Yokai Annihilator Fix: The 4-piece set bonus “Faster Ki Recovery (Low Life)” was completely broken. This patch fixes the bug so the perk actually triggers when your health drops into the red.
  • PC Mouse Crashes: Steam players will no longer experience sudden game crashes when left-clicking inside the Equipment Appearance menus.
  • PS5 Menu Lockouts: Fixes a frustrating UI bug where the help prompts and selection controls would conflict on the blacksmith screen, completely locking you out of managing your gear.
