Final Fantasy Tactics Ivalice Chronicles | 1.5.0 Patch Notes

FFT Ivalice Chronicles update 1.5.0 is officially live, introducing highly requested quality-of-life adjustments to Square Enix’s tactical RPG. The new “Enhanced” patch fixes several of the game’s long-standing menu headaches while adding entirely new progression systems for endgame players.

The update is available to download right now across all platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam.

New Game Plus & Zodiac Compatibility

If you have already finished the main campaign, you can finally jump back in without losing your hard-earned progress. The update adds a traditional New Game+ mode, letting you restart the story while carrying over your unit levels and item data from your cleared save file.

The developers have also added a dedicated Zodiac Compatibility function. You can now check how your units align with each other directly from the status screen. This makes it much faster to plan optimal team synergy and damage multipliers without relying on external fan wiki guides.

Smart Battle UI & Menu Overhauls

Several clever adjustments fix the daily friction of combat positioning and party management:

  • Target Status Previews: When you hover your cursor over a tile to move or target an ability, you can now instantly view the stats of the unit standing on that tile.
  • Strip Equipment Fast: Managing your inventory is significantly faster thanks to a new “Remove All Equipment” shortcut added directly to the gear screen.
  • Clearer Job Requirements: Locked classes on the status screen now explicitly display their exact unlock parameters, so you know exactly which job levels you need to target next.
  • Sticky Camera Settings: You no longer have to constantly fight the camera during complex map verticality. Your chosen zoom levels and viewing angles now lock in place and persist for the entire duration of the match.

New Menu Toggles Worth Turning On

Head into the main menu’s gameplay options tab to find three new configuration settings designed to streamline your playtime:

  • Maintain Auto-proceed: This keeps story cutscenes rolling automatically without forcing you to press a button for every single dialogue box.
  • Ability Incantations Guaranteed: This option ensures that the classic, flavor dialogue spoken by units when casting powerful magic is always performed rather than triggering randomly.
  • Ability Cursor Memory: This toggle remembers the exact skill your unit selected during their last action, cutting down on repetitive menu scrolling if you are spamming the same spells or attacks.

Finally, the update introduces localized text support for Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean, alongside standard audio balance tweaks and stability fixes.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC (via Steam) and Switch along with a free upgrade to Switch 2.
