Digimon Story Time Stranger | GAKU-RAN DLC Revealed

Bandai Namco has revealed the Digimon Story: Time Stranger GAKU-RAN DLC, which launched in January 2026 as part of the Season Pass. As a major update to this entry in the broader Digimon Story sub-series, the pack expands both the roster and the narrative.

The DLC is officially titled Additional Digimon & Episode Pack 2: GAKU-RAN. It adds new Digivolution routes for five Mega-level Digimon, focusing on the BAN-TYO group and its delinquent school leader theme

The GAKU-RAN lineup features BanchoLeomon, BanchoStingmon, BanchoLillymon, BanchoMamemon, and BanchoGolemon. Because BanchoLeomon already appears in the base game, Bandai Namco has not yet confirmed the exact identity of the fifth new Mega Digimon.

This release serves as the second episode in the planned three-episode DLC lineup included with the Season Pass. The roadmap lists the remaining episode pack as coming soon.

The GAKU-RAN DLC also introduces a new story episode. This content centers on Hiroko Sagisaka, a schoolmate of Inori, and expands her role in the narrative.

Bandai Namco has also released a teaser trailer for the GAKU-RAN DLC. The video offers an early look at the new Digimon and story content.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Players need the base game to access the Season Pass content. The PC version uses Denuvo anti-tamper DRM.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger GAKU-RAN DLC | Editor’s Take

The GAKU-RAN DLC strikes a good balance between mechanical additions and narrative expansion. New Digivolution routes add depth for returning players, while the Hiroko-focused episode helps keep the Season Pass from feeling like a purely mechanical update.
