Digimon Story Time Stranger has had Denuvo anti-tamper technology removed from its PC version, nearly ten months after the RPG launched on Steam.
Released in September 2025, Digimon Story: Time Stranger launched with Denuvo anti-tamper technology before Bandai Namco removed the DRM solution through a post-launch update. The change arrives as the game continues receiving support across platforms, including its Nintendo Switch 2 release and additional quality-of-life improvements.
Digimon Story Time Stranger Removes Denuvo on PC
The removal gives PC players another option for experiencing Digimon Story Time Stranger without third-party anti-tamper software. While Denuvo is commonly used during a game’s launch period, some PC players prefer versions without additional DRM due to concerns surrounding long-term accessibility and potential performance impact.
The update also arrives alongside continued post-launch support for the RPG, including its Nintendo Switch 2 version. The latest release introduces additional improvements such as performance mode options, Terriermon Assistant features, and other quality-of-life changes. For a full breakdown of those additions, see our coverage of the Digimon Story Time Stranger update.
