Voxel Physics & Progression Mechanics
The title expands upon the mechanics of BeXide’s ongoing Mountain puzzle series, translating traditional arcade iconography into 3D voxel-style assets. The core gameplay loop utilizes a modified accumulation matrix reminiscent of the genre’s current physics-based matching trends:
- Drop and Merge Loop: Players deploy transparent capsules containing voxel characters onto a circular platform. When two identical character models collide, they instantly fuse to form a single, structurally larger character tier.
- Spatial Management: Because the playing field operates on a 3D plane, pieces possess complex weight distribution and rolling inertia. Players lose the match if any accumulated assets tumble over the outer boundaries of the primary drop plate.
- Evolutionary Lineup: Combining specific retro models triggers predictable character upgrades. For example, merging two PAC-MAN spheres creates Taizo Hori from DIG DUG, while colliding two DIG DUG pieces yields MAPPY.
The software features five dedicated legacy stages built around individual franchise properties, including XEVIOUS and THE TOWER OF DRUAGA. Each environment introduces distinct background audio tracks and retro sound effects pulled directly from the original arcade cabinet ROMs. Over 100 unique voxel models can be unlocked through score milestones and arranged inside a fully modular “Collection Room” gallery mode.
