Dotemu and The Game Kitchen have announced that NINJA GAIDEN: Ragebound, a new 2D side-scrolling action platformer, will launch on July 31 across all major platforms. A demo will be available on PC via Steam Next Fest from June 9 to 16.

About the Game

Set directly after the events of the original NES Ninja Gaiden, Ragebound introduces players to Kenji Mozu—a young ninja tasked with confronting a growing demonic threat after Ryu Hayabusa sets out on his own journey. Alongside Kumori, a kunoichi from the rival Black Spider Clan, Kenji must rise above clan rivalries and master forbidden techniques to survive.

The game emphasizes fast-paced, precision-heavy combat where timing and movement are critical. Players will face waves of enemies, fierce bosses, and platforming challenges while upgrading abilities, uncovering hidden missions, and unlocking new content throughout the campaign.

Soundtrack & Visual Style

Ragebound features detailed pixel art inspired by classic entries in the series, paired with a modern presentation. The soundtrack includes work from the original Ninja Gaiden NES composers—Keiji Yamagishi, Ryuichi Niita, and Kaori Nakabai—alongside lead composer Sergio de Prado (Blasphemous).
