Our Jiangyu GFL2 guide looks at the arrival of the energetic electric support unit and whether her stability-breaking kit is worth your resources in the latest Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium update.
On September 24, Jiangyu (Type 97) steps into the spotlight. While she is known as the “Screw it, we ball” sister of Daiyan, her presence on the board is technically disciplined. She acts as a specialized Electric anchor who shreds stability while providing powerful defense-down debuffs for the whole team.

Jiangyu Overview

Bubbly, bold, and always ready to stand by her sister.
Jiangyu is an Electric Support who excels at breaking enemy stability while adding Defense Down to her team’s toolkit. She intercepts enemies, buffs allies, and debuffs foes, making her effective immediately at base investment. Because she provides consistent out-of-turn pressure, she is a natural fit for players building around the Electric meta.
- Seiyuu: Ayane Sakura
- The Gimmick: Stability breaking and out-of-turn Electric damage. She manages Chi stacks to fuel her fixed stability damage.
- Stat Priorities: Attack Boost, Attack, Crit Rate, Crit Damage.
- Recommended Attachments: Phase Strike for efficiency or Electric Boost for optimization.
Jiangyu’s Skills & Keys
Jiangyu focuses on maintaining the Positive Charge buff for allies while applying Defense Down II and Conductivity to enemies. Her playstyle rewards aggressive positioning that allows her to trigger Interception attacks.
Understanding Her Keys
- Intercepting Fist (Fixed Key): This is her primary disruption tool. Before an enemy within 8 tiles makes an active attack, Jiangyu performs an Interception that deals Electric damage and 2 points of stability damage. This also applies Conductivity.
- Calm Focus (Fixed Key): Essential for team synergy. At the start of the turn, she applies Positive Charge to the allied Doll with the highest attack for 3 turns.
- Opening Move (Fixed Key): This bridges her support and offensive roles. When allies with Positive Charge make an active attack, Jiangyu applies Defense Down II to the target.
- Might Makes Right (Common Key): Simple damage scaling. It increases her Attack by 5% and damage dealt to enemies in Stability Break by 10%.
Expansion Key: Urge to Perform
- This is her primary build anchor. It causes enemies to take Electric Damage equal to 90% of Jiangyu’s attack whenever they enter Stability Break. Plus, when an allied unit with 3 stacks of Power Surge deals damage, their critical stats are increased based on the enemy’s Voltage Sag stacks.
Jiangyu Rate-Up Banner

The electric star takes the lead in the latest rotation.
Jiangyu debuts on a rate-up banner alongside Littara and Ksenia. She is strong immediately at V0 and fills a core role in Electric compositions, making her a safe one-copy pull for most players.
Jiangyu (Type 97) Vertebrae Breakpoints:
- V0: Fully functional. She provides everything needed for Electric teams right away.
- V1: A consistency spike. It adds an extra Support Attack instance and improves the scaling of her buffs.
- V6: The competitive threshold. This adds significant defense ignore and buffs the total output of the Electric squad.
Verdict: Jiangyu is completely online at V0. You do not need to push for duplicates unless you are fully committing to a Mono-Electric roster with Leva.
Jiangyu Team Recommendations
Jiangyu shires up the Electric roster as a stability-breaking support.
The “High Voltage” Core
- Main DPS: Leva
- Sub-DPS: Lenna
- Support: Jiangyu
- Sustain: Yoohee or Ksenia
- Strategy: This is the standard Mono-Electric lineup. Jiangyu provides the defense shred and stability breaks that Leva needs to maximize her personal damage.
The “Tactical Intercept” Squad
- Main DPS: Mosin-Nagant
- Sub-DPS: Jiangyu
- Support: Ksenia
- Sustain: Belka
- Strategy: This team focuses on out-of-turn pressure. Jiangyu’s Interceptions combined with Mosin’s long-range execution create a board where enemies are punished for every action they take.
Leaping Tiger | Jiangyu’s Signature Weapon

Precision hits harder when the roar is thunderous.
- Effect: Phase damage is increased. After dealing Electric damage, Jiangyu gains a permanent phase damage increase. At max stacks, her Physical attacks convert to Electric and deal increased stability damage.
- Trait: Grants 3 tiles of Additional Movement after using an Ultimate skill.
- The Verdict: Secure the character first. While Leaping Tiger is powerful, Jiangyu performs well with Golden Melody or other offensive support weapons. Secure V0 Jiangyu before deciding if you need her signature weapon.
Additional Outfits | Raindrop-Cleaving Blades

A sharp look for a sharper doll.
Jiangyu receives her shop-exclusive costume, Raindrop-Cleaving Blades, available from September 24 to October 15. This outfit will be available at a limited-time discount during the event window.
Closing Thoughts | Jiangyu Breakdown
Jiangyu is a valuable addition to the Electric roster who simplifies high-difficulty stability checks. She is efficient at V0 and doesn’t require her signature weapon to perform her support duties. If you are building around Leva or want a reliable defense-shredder for your bossing squads, Jiangyu is a fantastic pick. Good luck with your pulls, Commander.
