Hundred Line Prequel Novel Announced by Kazutaka Kodaka

Kazutaka Kodaka is working on a prequel novel for Hundred Line, focusing on the full Special Defense Force cast. No release date has been set.

More backstory is coming for the Special Defense Force.

During the “Hundred Line: Final Defense Academy 100-Minute Broadcast” livestream on August 2, Kazutaka Kodaka (creator of Danganronpa and Hundred Line) announced that a prequel novel is in the works. The new story will focus on other members of the Special Defense Force featured in the game.

Previously, a prequel novella titled “Hiruko Shizukuhara’s First Battle: Special Defense Force Prequel FILE03” was distributed as a pre-order bonus, focusing on one of the playable characters. The upcoming novel will expand on that concept, shifting the spotlight to additional Defense Force members.

During the broadcast, voice actor Taihi Kimura (Takumi Sumino) read a short excerpt from the novel, narrating a segment that featured the character Darumi Amemiya.

While release details and format are still undecided, Kodaka confirmed he’s aiming for the novel to explore the entire Special Defense Force cast.
