Mica has officially revealed the contents of the next major update for Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium, bringing not one but two new SSR banners and the game’s first SSR welfare unit.

Running from July 3 to July 23, the event features:

  • Springfield — a highly-anticipated addition for Hydro teams
  • Peri (MP5) — a stylish new attacker with a more niche role
  • Faye (CZ75) — the game’s first SSR welfare T-Doll, earnable for free during the event

Let’s break down each unit’s role, key mechanics, and whether they’re worth pulling.

Springfield PV

First Look at Springfield

Voiced by fan favorite seiyuu Yui Horie, Springfield brings one of GFL1’s most beloved Dolls into Girls’ Frontline 2—this time as a top-tier Hydro support with sustain, buffs, and incredible scaling. At launch, she’s already considered the best Hydro enabler in the game, even in the CN meta.

She pairs especially well with Tololo V2 and will become even more essential once Niketta (VSK) arrives

Springfield’s Skills & Keys

Springfield’s playstyle focuses on reactive healing, Hydro damage amplification, and team-wide durability.

  • Ultimate: Doubles all allies’ Max HP and summons a non-summon “bird” that counterattacks and heals automatically
  • Passive Healing: Reactively heals allies and converts excess healing into Hydro DMG buffs
  • Support Scaling: Enhances any Hydro DPS—especially those who rely on sustained attacks and Support Action procs

Her recommended keys are 3 and 5 and anything after that is up to user preference as it is situational. Phase Strike is fine to use on her, and her stat priority for attachments are:
Below V6: HP Boost, HP, Attack Boost, Attack.
V6: HP Boost, HP, Crit Rate, Crit Damage

Springfield’s Rate-Up Banner

Springfield is the featured unit on a limited-time SSR rate-up banner from July 3 to July 23.

She’s not just strong—she’s core to Hydro team functionality, and many players will want at least V1 to access her key passive unlocks. Her synergy with Tololo V2 alone makes this banner high-priority, and her future-proof utility ensures she’ll stay relevant long after this patch.

Recommendation: Pull at least V1. If you’re a Hydro main or planning ahead for Nikketa, V2 or higher is optimal.

Springfield Weapon Rate-Up Banner

Springfield’s weapon is one of the best support gear pieces in the game, offering:

  • +Hydro DMG for all allies
  • ATK Up II (15%) for any ally healed by her Active Skills
  • A personal HP buff (mostly impactful at V6 for DPS builds)

Recommendation: Pull this after securing V1 or V2. It greatly amplifies her utility, especially when paired with Hydro DPS-heavy comps.

Peri’s PV

First Look at Peri

Voiced by Naomi Mukaiyama, Peri (MP5) debuts as a Burn-element SMG Bulwark who trades her own HP for aggressive, multi-hit basic attacks. Her standout trait is the ability to trigger Support Attacks from allies, especially single-target ones like Qiongjiu’s.

Peri’s Skills & Keys

Peri’s kit revolves around consuming her own HP to cast multiple Basic Attacks per turn, which can activate ally Support Attacks. This opens the door for interactions with units like Qiongjiu—but there are some serious drawbacks:

  • Reduced Healing: Her own HP-draining skills limit how much she can be healed
  • Self-Sustain Only: She does have a personal shield and damage reduction, but no healing amplification or regen
  • No Team Buffs: She brings no utility outside of triggering support procs

While her playstyle is unique, her damage is low even at full crit and her scaling doesn’t match up with the rest of the Burn team.

Her recommended keys are 1, 2, and 6. Phase Strike is fine to use on her, and her stat priority for attachments are:

HP Boost, HP, Attack Boost, Crit Damage

Peri’s Rate-Up Banner

Peri shares the same limited-time launch window as Springfield but is featured on her own SSR banner. Unfortunately, she’s outclassed in both utility and performance—especially considering how well-established the Burn team already is.

Recommendation: Not worth pulling in her current state. Unless you’re hoarding resources or expecting a future Expansion Key, skip this banner and focus on higher-impact picks like Springfield.

Peri’s Weapon Rate-Up Banner

Peri’s signature weapon is designed to enhance her burn-based burst by improving survivability and damage potential. However, due to her underwhelming base scaling, the weapon doesn’t do enough to justify pulls.

Recommendation: Skip the weapon banner. Peri is already low-priority, and her gear doesn’t change that.

First Look at Faye

Faye (CZ75) is Girls’ Frontline 2’s first SSR welfare unit, and she’s far from a throwaway. Rated Tier 1 for both general content and boss fights on Prydwen (T0 being the highest, T3 the lowest), she offers powerful debuffing and utility for physical-focused teams.

Her core ability applies Rend, causing enemies to take increased physical damage and reduced DEF, while also boosting her own Ultimate damage. She may not be flashy, but she slots cleanly into physical comps and holds her own well into mid- and late-game team builds.

Summary: A free Tier 1 unit with strong debuffing utility. No excuses—claim her.

Faye’s Skills & Keys

Faye’s kit revolves around applying Rend, a powerful debuff that:

  • Increases physical damage enemies receive
  • Reduces their DEF
  • Boosts her own Ultimate damage

She pairs well with physical DPS units and brings excellent support value, especially for players building out non-elemental or mixed damage teams.

Faye’s Signature Weapon

Faye’s signature handgun, Hestia, boosts physical damage dealt by the wielder, synergizing well with her Rend debuff and Ultimate damage scaling.

While not essential, it adds noticeable value if you plan to use her consistently in physical-based teams. Importantly, Hestia will be added to the standard banner pool, so there’s no need to chase it during this update unless you’re fully investing in her right away.

Recommendation: A solid addition—but easy to pick up later. Don’t feel pressured to roll immediately.
