A $499 price point for the Nintendo Switch 2 Choose Your Game bundle represents a calculated, yet consumer-friendly pricing strategy from Nintendo. Because the standalone console’s price hike doesn’t take effect until September, launching this bundle now signals a genuine value window. You are essentially getting a $70 to $80 flagship game entirely for free compared to what the hardware alone will cost this fall. The options are also diverse enough to hit different audiences and their preferred playstyles instead of restricting choices to a single flagship title.
I preordered the Mario Kart World bundle before the official Switch 2 launch, and I still do not regret it. There have been a lot of backwards compatibility updates and quality of life patches to system settings and overall functionality that put it in a much better state than it was at launch. If you want to play your Switch games better, or want the convenience of current generation games on the go or played on a big screen, it’s the system I’d personally suggest as it is just getting started and you know exactly what you’re going to get with a Nintendo system.
This is a stark contrast to the other two options from the big three, which are currently suffering from an identity crisis and already talking about their next successors.
