The HUNDRED LINE -Final Defense Academy- anniversary celebration has resulted in several major project announcements for the franchise.
As reported by Famitsu, these updates coincide with the first year since the game debuted on Nintendo Switch and PC. The expansion includes a stage play, a comic series, and a comprehensive setting materials collection.
Stage Play: Extreme Selection Theater
The most significant reveal is the stage adaptation titled Extreme Selection Theater: HUNDRED LINE -Final Defense Academy-. The production will run at the Tennozu Galaxy Theater from August 8 to August 16, 2026.
Directed by Kako Rin’o and starring Tamura Shin, the play will feature a branching narrative structure. It aims to replicate the “extreme selection” mechanics of the game by showcasing multiple endings, including “100 Days of Beginning” and “Goodbye Blue Moon.” The production includes original endings that were not part of the source material. Pre-orders for tickets include a bonus prequel novel supervised by Kazutaka Odaka.
Manga Adaptation & Lyric Video

This illustration, by artist Ejou, focuses on the game’s high-stakes narrative with Takumi and his classmates.
A comic adaptation is scheduled to begin serialization in Manga UP! starting in winter 2026. The series features a story written by Tsukueni with illustrations by Ejou. Published by Square Enix, the manga will follow the events of the defense academy with a focus on character-driven drama.
To further mark the occasion, a lyric video for the song “Sedum” is now available. This video focuses on the “001 Truth Revealed” ending. Players who have not completed the game should use caution; the video contains heavy spoilers for the late-game narrative.
Setting Materials Collection
An official art and setting materials collection is also in production. This book will feature previously unreleased information regarding the unit commanders and the technical designs of the academy. Further details on the release date and pricing will follow in a later report.
Technical Context
For players on Steam and Nobara Linux, HUNDRED LINE -Final Defense Academy- remains a highly compatible title. The game utilizes a mix of 2D adventure segments and tactical RPG combat that runs efficiently through Proton without heavy hardware demands. These new cross-media projects suggest a long-term commitment to the IP from Aniplex and TooKyo Games.
