Nioh 3 1.04.03 update is now live for PlayStation 5 and Steam.
The 1.04.03 patch focuses on resolving critical progression blockers and fixing broken weapon logic within the Arts Proficiency system. The update also introduces several quality of life changes to inventory management and Ninjutsu scaling.
Martial Arts & Weapon Refinements
The most significant changes in this build involve the Samurai and Ninja weapon classes. Team Ninja addressed a major technical oversight where certain Martial Arts failed to trigger or register correctly during high level play.
Arts Proficiency Fixes
The update resolves an issue where the Sword techniques Iai Quickdraw and Tiger Sprint, as well as Dual Sword techniques Sign of the Cross and Sign of the Cross Pierce, could not be performed consecutively during Arts Proficiency. This fix restores the intended flow of combat for endgame builds.
Weapon Specific Corrections
- Sword: Elemental effects now apply correctly to the Swift Step Heavy Martial Art.
- Spear: Enemies can no longer block Spear Flourish after a successful Max Ki Pulse.
- Axe: Fixed an issue where the Soul Devourer direction was incorrect and resolved a bug where gauges would not fill after a Retreating Axe hit.
- Hatchets: Mid-air Martial Arts now trigger correctly following a mid-air Dodge.
- Tonfa: Corrected an issue preventing certain combination inputs from triggering if specific customizations were removed.
Ninjutsu & Gameplay Adjustments
Ninjutsu users receive a direct power increase in this patch. The Pufferpuss Technique deals more damage, and the Thundering Calamity is now more effective against enemies at lower elevations.
Inventory & Teahouse Changes
- Auto-Dispose Settings: Players can now toggle a setting to automatically disassemble equipment for Material Essence.
- Hidden Teahouse: Accessory rewards now display Style icons, making it easier to identify relevant gear.
- Set Bonuses: The text for Single Sword’s Reverie has been clarified to explain the Rising Tide effect more accurately.
Progression & Mission Fixes
Several game breaking bugs in Shogun’s Journey have been resolved. These fixes are retroactive for players currently stuck in these missions.
- Spirit Tree Village (247 CE): Players unable to open the door before the boss battle will find the path open after reloading their save.
- A Sinister End: Fixed an issue where Lesser Crucible spikes could not be destroyed.
- Funaokayama (1190 CE): The merchant will now appear correctly after completing the Haunting Caves mission.
- Futamata Castle (1572 CE): Resolved an environment collision bug that caused players to become stuck.
Platform Specific Improvements
Steam
The Steam version now includes an adjustment to FPS Dynamic Adjustment to reduce lag during frame rate shifts. A fix was also implemented for screen lag occurring with certain joystick controllers. Additionally, players can now enter Arabic characters on text input screens.
PlayStation 5
For PS5 Pro users, a crash associated with the Ukiyo-e filter in photo mode has been fixed.
