The Kon Network just crossed 10,000 all-time views. That might not mean much to the algorithm, but it means a lot to me—especially knowing it happened without clickbait headlines, manufactured outrage, or dabbling in politics just to stir the pot.

I started this website not just because I love video games and grew up on classic game journalism, but because I felt there was something missing in the current landscape. Too many developers’ names slip through the cracks, and the collective effort that brings a game to life often gets overshadowed by surface-level hype or negativity.

My mission’s always been simple: offer a fair, thoughtful, and principled breakdown of each game I cover. That includes background on the people who made it, my own experience with the genre or series, and a clear picture of how the mechanics actually function. I’m not here to sell you the game or act as PR—I’m here to hand you the brush, paint a scene of the game’s craft and creators, and let you decide if it’s something you want to step into.

That approach comes from how I used to read Nintendo Power and other magazines as a kid. They didn’t spoil the magic—they invited you into it. I try to do the same with every spoiler-free review.

10,000 views and still spoiler-free.
No clickbait, no tricks—just games and grit.

Reflecting on the Road So Far

This site started out as, frankly, a mess—baby’s first website held together with duct tape and unholy code. Since then, it’s grown through four redesigns into something I’m proud to call legit. We’ve added news articles, editorial pieces, a feedback page, and more ways for your voices to be heard.

We’ve covered everything from indie titles like Gravity Circuit to deep dives like the RAIDOU Remastered review, and event guides for Girls’ Frontline 2. It’s been encouraging to see steady growth in readership and engagement, especially on the longer-form pieces that take more time to shape.

What’s Next

Here’s what’s coming soon:

  • The full review of Silent Hill 4: The Room
  • More editorials—one on remakes vs. reimaginings is in the pipeline
  • A tentative list of upcoming reviews and site tweaks
  • A planned host migration, likely by Q4 2025 or around mid-2027

A Special Thank You

A massive thank you to @doekuramori, creator of The Citadel and Beyond Citadel; @mothman47, Beyond Citadel’s composer for sharing our Beyond Citadel review, and @Bo_deWindt, COO of Aksys Games, for sharing our Death Mark DLC: Kaerazu’s Amusement Park review, a vivid dive into its chilling craft.

Your support means everything as we keep spotlighting the craft behind great games!

I’d Love to Hear from You

What kind of content keeps you coming back? Do you prefer in-depth reviews, shorter impressions, GFL2 guides, editorials—or something I haven’t touched yet?

Let me know in the comments or via the contact page. Whether you’ve been following from the start or just stumbled in, thank you for helping this site reach 10K.

Here’s to the next chapter.
