Persona 4 Revival | Game Overview

Persona 4 Revival is ATLUS P-Studio’s full remake of Persona 4 Golden, launching February 18, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. The remake rebuilds Inaba with enhanced visuals, redesigned combat systems, new scenes, updated cutscenes, quality-of-life changes, and reworked music.

The game will also be available through Xbox Game Pass at launch. Xbox Play Anywhere supports play across Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC with shared progression through the same Xbox account.

Returning to Inaba

The story follows a high school student who moves to the rural town of Inaba, where a string of murders disrupts everyday life. At the same time, rumors spread about the Midnight Channel, a mysterious television broadcast said to appear on rainy nights.

The investigation leads the protagonist and his classmates into another world hidden beyond the television screen. As the Investigation Team searches for missing people and the truth behind the killings, the protagonist must also balance school life, friendships, jobs, and everyday activities around Inaba.

Daily Life and Social Links

Life in Inaba progresses through a calendar, with most activities consuming part of the day. Events and available activities can change according to the date, time, and weather, requiring players to decide how they want to spend their limited free time.

  • Social Links: Spending time with people throughout Inaba strengthens relationships, improves Persona-related abilities, and can unlock additional combat skills.
  • Social Stats: Studying, joining activities, working part-time jobs, and other actions raise Knowledge, Courage, Diligence, Understanding, and Expression, opening additional opportunities around town.
  • Exploration: Players can move through Inaba between story events and eventually gain opportunities to travel beyond the town.

TV World and New Combat Systems

Inside the television world, the Investigation Team explores areas filled with Shadows, searches for missing people, and fights through turn-based encounters. Exploiting an enemy weakness can knock it down and grant another action, while knocking down the entire group opens an All-Out Attack.

Personas remain central to combat and character growth. New Personas can be created through fusion in the Velvet Room, with inherited skills allowing players to build different movesets for the protagonist.

Persona 4 Revival also introduces several new battle mechanics documented in ATLUS and SEGA’s official remake overview:

  • Guard: Successfully blocking a Shadow’s attack can stun it. During exploration, players can also strike enemies first or avoid encounters.
  • Send Flying: Attacking a Shadow affected by a status ailment can knock it into another enemy, dealing damage and potentially spreading the same ailment.
  • Baton Pass: A 1 More action can be passed to another party member, allowing the team to continue targeting weaknesses and knocking down enemies.
  • Prime Time: Filling a battle gauge activates a temporary state that enables consecutive actions, removes skill costs, ignores enemy resistances, and allows unrestricted Baton Passes before a Series Finale attack.

The remake also adds new seasonal events and other scenes, alongside updated anime-style and 3D cutscenes. The main story has been re-recorded, Social Links and new events receive additional voice work, and composer Ryota Kozuka leads a soundtrack combining remixes with new music performed by lead vocalist Shiori Sasaki.

Atlus highlighted those additions together in their August 2026 New Features trailer, showing Send Flying, Baton Pass, and Prime Time in action alongside the expanded voice work and new music.
