LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has been announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) with a 2026 release.

TT Games’ strategic director and head of development Jonathan Smith described it as “a real celebration of everything Batman,” promising an origin-to-legend journey of Bruce Wayne with iconic moments reimagined in LEGO form and backed by an expanded combat system.
DC’s Jim Lee emphasized the game’s scope, stating it incorporates nearly every facet of Batman—from detective to mentor—while LEGO’s Fredrik Loving highlighted its balance of authenticity and family-friendly fun.
Game Overview
According to Warner Bros. Games, Legacy of the Dark Knight is a story-driven, open-world action adventure that spans Batman’s journey from his training with the League of Shadows to his battles against Gotham’s infamous rogues.
The game features:
- Story Campaign: Team up with allies including Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul against villains like Joker, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, and Bane.
- Combat System: A revamped LEGO Batman fighting style with fluid combos, counters, takedowns, and gadgets like Batarangs and the Batclaw. Supporting characters bring unique gear, such as Gordon’s foam sprayer or Catwoman’s whip.
- Difficulty Options: New “Caped Crusader” and “Dark Knight” modes for players seeking a more challenging experience.
- Open-World Gotham: Grapple, glide, and drive across Gotham with various Batmobiles, Batcycles, and the Batglider, while exploring alleys, rooftops, and hidden corners.
- Customization: The Batcave serves as a hub for vehicles, trophies, collectibles, and an array of unlockable Batsuits inspired by Batman’s long media history.
