The demo for The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-, the latest title from Too Kyo Games, is now available on the Nintendo eShop. Players can experience the first seven days of the story, with progress carrying over to the full game upon release.

Developed by Too Kyo Games the studio behind Master Detective Archives: Raincode, and in collaboration with Media.Vision, known for their work on the Valkyria Chronicles series, The Hundred Line brings together key creative minds from the Danganronpa series, including writer Kazutaka Kodaka, composer Masafumi Takada, and artist Rui Komatsuzaki. The project is also a collaboration with Kotaro Uchikoshi, the writer behind The Nonary Games, adding another layer of narrative expertise to the game.

Kodaka has openly stated that he took out a significant loan to fund the development of The Hundred Line, putting his studio’s future on the line. If the game fails, it could mark the end of Too Kyo Games.

As a fan of Danganronpa 1 & 2 and Master Detective Archives: Raincode, I’ve personally picked up the Collector’s Edition — this is easily one of my most anticipated games of the year. I’m also a huge admirer of Rui Komatsuzaki’s distinct art style and Masafumi Takada’s music, with Takada having composed for many of my favorite games. I’ll be sharing my full review next month, so stay tuned for an in-depth look at what The Hundred Line has to offer.
