Nintendo has announced that its My Nintendo Gold Points program will no longer award points for purchases starting March 24, 2025, at 9:30 PM PT. This change affects both digital and physical purchases, though players can still redeem previously earned points under the current rules.

What’s Changing?

After the cutoff date, digital game purchases, eShop card transactions, and physical game registrations will no longer generate Gold Points. However, physical games released before March 24, 2025, will still be eligible for points if registered within a year of their launch.

Gold Points will continue to be valid for 12 months after they are issued, meaning players can still use any accumulated points within that time frame.

Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers Update

Nintendo also confirmed that Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers will not be compatible with titles exclusive to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

For those looking to take advantage of the Gold Points program before it ends, purchases made before March 24 will still earn points as usual. Stay tuned for any further updates from Nintendo regarding these changes.
