Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition Opening Video

Nintendo and Monolith Soft have released the How It All Began opening video for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, offering a cinematic look at the events that set the story in motion. The video can be viewed below.

A Cinematic Prologue

The opening revisits humanity’s final days on Earth, caught in the crossfire of an interstellar conflict that leads to the planet’s destruction. Survivors escape aboard the White Whale, only to crash-land on the alien world of Mira. The sequence establishes the stakes that drive the game’s themes of survival, exploration, and rebuilding.

Visual Presentation in the Definitive Edition

The Definitive Edition features visual refinements across environments, character models, and lighting. These upgrades give the opening sequence greater clarity and scale while preserving the tone and structure of the original presentation.

A Return to Mira

First released on Wii U in 2015, Xenoblade Chronicles X became known for its vast open world, emphasis on exploration, and real-time combat systems. The Definitive Edition brings the experience to Nintendo Switch, aiming to modernize presentation while retaining the core design that earned the game its following.

Release Information

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition launches on March 20 for Nintendo Switch. Additional details on the release and updates to the game can be found through Nintendo’s official channels.
