There are currently no plans to port The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy to additional platforms like PlayStation or Xbox, according to co-director and co-writer Kazutaka Kodaka.
Clarification Misunderstood
In a post on Bluesky, Kodaka clarified that he wasn’t referring to the possibility of porting the game to other platforms but was rather discussing the matter of multilingual support.
This reinforces his previous statements that The Hundred Line is not expected to come to additional platforms, at least in the foreseeable future.
Launch and Financial Struggles
The game, developed by Too Kyo Games and published by Aniplex (a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment Japan), launched on Switch and PC via Steam on April 24, 2025. While fans had hoped for a wider release, Kodaka has made it clear that financial limitations are the key factor in the decision to focus on the existing platforms.
Kodaka previously mentioned that Too Kyo Games “invested all our money and human resources into this game,” even to the point of incurring debt.
With the studio still grappling with financial struggles, Kodaka stated, “We are on the brink of going under,” which further explains why porting the game to other platforms is not currently feasible.
The Future of The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy
Fans can still enjoy the game on Switch and PC for now, but it seems unlikely that The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy will be expanded to other consoles in the foreseeable future due to these ongoing financial constraints.
