Stranger Than Heaven RGG Studio interview details arrived following the latest Xbox broadcast, confirming a multi-era story and a dedicated presentation on May 6.
Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama confirmed the project unfolds across five distinct time periods: 1915, 1929, 1943, 1951, and 1965. Players will explore five different Japanese cities throughout these eras. This represents one of the most ambitious undertakings in the history of the studio.

Creating five cities across such a wide timeline is a major focus for the team. They are bringing historical periods to life that rarely appear in the medium. This includes a 1915 version of Kamurocho, which looks quite different from the modern streets fans know from previous entries.
Combat and Environmental Systems
The footage provided a look at a highly dynamic combat system. The design includes weaponry, grappling, and environmental interactions. Yokoyama mentioned that the trailer only shows a small part of the new combat mechanics.

Cinematic action plays a large role in the experience. The latest trailer showed large explosions and high-stakes encounters. One scene featured a standoff with a rival gang in a historical street setting.

Players can travel through the cities by tram. The world includes romantic options and the return of high-quality food rendering. A jazz-drumming soundtrack accompanies the footage. Yokoyama stated that the music is a key part of the atmosphere.
