When asked about the series, Matsubara shared:

“All I can say is, yes, it is still in production, but I can’t reveal any details at this time.”

Steins;Gate Thematic Sequel


During the same interview with CBR, Matsubara also provided insights on a thematic sequel announced four years ago, which remains in active development. He hinted that the new game concept is in the works, with plans to translate it into a fully developed scenario. He shared:

“In the immediate future, the game is coming to Crunchyroll Vault, which is very exciting for a new audience to be able to experience it… there is a sequel to which we are putting the concepts together right now.”

This news aligns with Steins;Gate’s anniversary celebrations, which include live events and additional programming to engage both fans in Japan and a growing global audience.
