Do Not Barrel Roll Yet | Star Fox 2026 Demo Hits the eShop Today

Nintendo is not letting the momentum from its massive 50-minute showcase fade away. Right alongside the confirmation that the highly anticipated Star Fox remake lands on June 25, the company dropped a major surprise for the day.

A playable Star Fox 2026 demo is hitting the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop later today, giving players their very first hands-on look at the updated Lylat System.

The footage shown in the Treehouse Live! demonstrated the Gunner Co-Op setup, and briefly touched upon the Spanish, French, and Portuguese voice over options.

Remaking The Iconic Star Fox Entry

The demo includes a tiny vertical slice of the game’s Campaign Mode, featuring the classic branching paths that alter your narrative outcome based on your performance and specific hidden level objectives. Players will also get a brief feel for the updated shield, boost, and ring-collection systems that anchor the core survivability loop.

Pre-orders are officially live right now. When the full game drops on June 26, digital copies will sit at $49.99 on the eShop. Physical copies are a bit of a mixed bag for launch, retailing for $49.99 at select stores while hitting $59.99 at other physical retailers, so you will want to shop around before locking in a download or cartridge.

Get your downloads queued up, and we will have our full performance benchmarks and controller input analysis ready as soon as we finish testing the software on our hardware.
