SiN: Reloaded | Re-announced for 2026

Publishers 3D Realms and Nightdive Studios have a SiN: Reloaded announcement. It is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam, GOG in 2026.

Developed by Nightdive Studios alongside Slipgate Ironworks and Ritual Entertainment, this project is a complete remaster of the 1998 cult classic shooter.

A Dystopian Mutated Future

Players step into the boots of Colonel John R. Blade, a security consultant fighting to stop the CEO of SinTEK Industries, Elexis Sinclaire. Elexis is flooding the streets with a DNA-altering drug, creating an army of genetically engineered mutants that Blade must dismantle.

The original SiN was a pioneer in level interactivity, and those systems return here. You can still hack terminals using DOS style code, commandeer vehicles like forklifts and patrol boats, and navigate branching paths where your actions have consequences.

Remastered Features

SiN: Reloaded includes both the base game and the Wages of SiN mission pack, all running on the KEX Engine.

  • Visual Overhaul: Support for up to 4K resolution at 144 frames per second with HD textures and models.
  • Modern Controls: Overhauled control schemes and a modernized user interface.
  • Toggle Visuals: Players can swap between the remastered graphics and the original SiN Gold version at any time.
  • Enhanced Audio: Features higher resolution tracks from original composer Zak Belika.

Editor’s Take

The original SiN has always been the “what if” story of the late 90s shooter era. Releasing so close to Half-Life meant its incredible interactivity and location-based damage systems were often overshadowed by Valve’s juggernaut. It has been several years since this project was first revealed, so this updated SiN: Reloaded announcement provides some much needed confirmation that the finish line is finally in sight for 2026.

Seeing Nightdive take the wheel here is the best possible outcome for this IP. Their work on the KEX Engine has proven they can modernize the technical mess of older tech without losing what made the original experience special. Including the Wages of SiN expansion makes this the definitive package for a game that pushed the Quake II engine further than almost anyone else at the time.
