Five new shinobi join the series in 2026

Publisher Marvelous and developer Honey?Parade Games have announced Project N, the next entry in the Senran Kagura series for iOS and Android, as reported by Famitsu. It will launch in 2026 in Japan.

Set three years after Shinobi Master Senran Kagura: NEW LINK, Project N introduces five new shinobi girls and features returning characters Gekkou and Senkou, who were last seen as high school students in NEW LINK.

Character design is once again handled by Nan Yaegashi, known for defining the look and energy of the series since its debut. Marvelous describes Project N as “a new shinobi story set in a new school, centered around a mysterious girl,” with further details and the official title to be announced at a later date.

Editor’s Take

While this may not be the Senran Kagura revival fans expected, it’s a reminder that the series still has a pulse. Senran Kagura 7even was once the next big step, but between shifting market priorities and broader cultural scrutiny, a project like that may simply not be viable today. Still, if Project N captures the series’ trademark energy and charm, it could mark a meaningful new start.
