Resident Evil Requiem | Leon Returns in New Trailer

Capcom revealed that Leon S. Kennedy will join Resident Evil Requiem as a playable protagonist. The trailer shows him returning to Raccoon City as a seasoned veteran facing bioterror threats.

The game features a dual-protagonist structure. Players switch between Leon and Grace. This creates a contrast between fast-paced action and horror-focused sections. Leon’s chapters focus on combat and adrenaline. Grace’s chapters focus on tension and scares. The design balances fear and excitement across the game.

Developers Akifumi Nakanishi and Masato Kumazawa confirmed that Leon’s gameplay builds on a Resident Evil 4-style foundation. He now includes martial arts, melee combat, and new actions that highlight his experience. The trailer also shows him using a chainsaw and driving a custom Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT.

Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled to launch on February 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).

Editor’s Take

After the uneven remakes of 2 and 3, and Village feeling more like a tech demo, Resident Evil Requiem looks like a real return to form. Leon’s return and the dual-protagonist design make the game feel closer to earlier entries. It should be interesting, fun, and enjoyable to play.
