Nintendo has released system firmware version 21.2.0 for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, introducing general stability updates alongside revised backward compatibility status for select titles.
The official patch notes list general system stability improvements, a standard description Nintendo uses for minor firmware updates.
Beyond what is listed, the update also includes changes to backward compatibility status. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are now marked as fully compatible, with Nintendo noting that previously identified issues have been resolved through an update. Meanwhile, Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe is now listed as having audio issues that are currently under investigation.
