Nintendo Confirms Backward Compatibility and Nintendo Switch Online Support for New Console
Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa announced that the new Nintendo console will support backward compatibility and Nintendo Switch Online. Further details on the console and compatibility are expected in upcoming updates.
Less than half an hour ago, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa tweeted about today’s Corporate Management Policy Briefing, where he announced that the successor to the Nintendo Switch will support backward compatibility and include Nintendo Switch Online.

“This is Furukawa. At today’s Corporate Management Policy Briefing, we announced that Nintendo Switch software will also be playable on the successor to Nintendo Switch. Nintendo Switch Online will be available on the successor to Nintendo Switch as well. Further information about the successor to Nintendo Switch, including its compatibility with Nintendo Switch, will be announced at a later date.”
