A new rating hints that Nintendo’s long-awaited sequel is finally nearing launch.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has just been rated by South Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee, suggesting that Nintendo may be preparing to announce a release date soon. The game was rated 12+ for “mild violence,” a standard classification for the series.

What We Know So Far

Nintendo confirmed earlier this year that Metroid Prime 4 is still slated for release on the Nintendo Switch in 2025, with an enhanced version planned for Switch 2. A new trailer dropped back in March gave fans their first proper look at gameplay and story direction.

The official synopsis teases new powers and a mysterious setting:

“Samus Aran has been unexpectedly transported to the planet Viewros. As she explores the planet for answers, Samus is granted psychic abilities—mysterious and ancient powers that allow her to control the trajectory of her beams, operate mechanisms, and open doors.”

The trailer hinted at a deeper narrative, promising a tale that weaves “beyond space and time.”
