Nintendo Ramps Up Metroid Prime 4 Marketing with New Trailer

Nintendo kicks off Metroid Prime 4 marketing with a new trailer showcasing Samus Aran’s next mission. Could this signal a bigger focus for the series?

New Trailer Marks the Start of Metroid Prime 4’s Promotional Push

Trailer

Nintendo has officially kicked off Metroid Prime 4 marketing with a brand-new trailer, offering the best look yet at Samus Aran’s long-awaited return. The trailer highlights new environments, updated visuals, and a glimpse of first-person exploration fans have been waiting years to see.

The footage showcases alien worlds filled with atmospheric lighting, sharp visual detail, and intense first-person combat that recalls the original trilogy. It’s a reminder of what made the series stand out while clearly taking advantage of modern hardware.

Historically, Metroid hasn’t received the same marketing focus as Nintendo’s major series like The Legend of Zelda or Super Mario. Metroid Dread, released October 8, 2021, was a turning point. It received a bigger spotlight than usual and went on to become the best-selling entry in the franchise. With Prime 4, Nintendo appears to be following a similar late-cycle approach by building awareness closer to launch.

Metroid Dread’s marketing helped it reach a wider audience, showing that visibility can go a long way for the series. I’ll be revisiting and reviewing Metroid Dread later this month to explore that in more depth once it’s live.

Editor’s Take

One of the biggest words in the Metroid fanbase is “when.” When’s the next game, and when will Nintendo actually start talking about it? As a fan, I’ve learned not to expect huge campaigns for this series, so seeing a strong start to Prime 4’s promotion feels promising. If this momentum continues, Samus might finally get the recognition she’s deserved for decades.
