Kodaka Says The Hundred Line Is Securing Too Kyo Games

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is not just Too Kyo Games’ latest project; it is their first fully original and self-owned IP. Directed by Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka, the title is a massive undertaking, with over six million Japanese characters of scenario text, 100 different endings, and a scale that pushed the studio’s staff to their creative and logistical limits.

With that level of investment, there was a lot riding on its success, and so far it looks like the gamble is paying off.

In a recent Bloomberg interview, Kodaka shared that the game is “selling pretty well,” though he didn’t provide exact figures. More importantly, he stated he doesn’t see bankruptcy as a “serious future” for the company, suggesting the game has found a strong enough audience to keep Too Kyo Games on stable footing.

Kodaka has previously said he would like to pursue DLC, an anime adaptation, or even a sequel, and this is the first concrete indication that the studio may actually be in a position to do so.
