Girls’ Frontline 2 | Makiatto, Platoons Breakdown

Today, GFL2 is receiving an exciting update that introduces the much-anticipated Platoon system, a game-changer for commanders eager to expand their strategic options. Alongside this feature, we’re also seeing the release of the Rhapsody Quartet (Makiatto) event, the introduction of Papasha, and a rate-up banner for Tololo. Let’s break down everything you need to know.

The Platoon System: A Quick Overview

The Platoon system adds a whole new layer of depth to gameplay by allowing commanders to group their units into structured formations. Here’s how it works:

  • Unit Assignments: Commanders can create platoons by assigning multiple units into a single, cohesive team. This is expected to provide flexibility for different mission types and challenges.
  • Unique Rewards: Platoons will be integral for farming certain materials, including duplicates of Papasha and her weapon, which are exclusively tied to this system.
  • Customization Options: The released screenshots highlight multiple platoon layouts and options for optimizing efficiency.

To see the system in action, check out the video below for a brief introduction.

Rhapsody Quartet Event Overview

The Rhapsody Quartet Event introduces a wealth of new content centered around the WA2000 (Makiatto) and other exclusive rewards. Here’s a breakdown of the event, including details extracted from additional resources

Makiatto Overview

Makiatto is available exclusively through the rate-up banner. Players will need to test their luck to recruit her, as she cannot be unlocked by simply playing the event.

Her character information can be read below:

She is voiced by fan favoice seiyuu Haruka Tomatsu (known for Zero Two and Haru Okumura)

Makiatto Skills & Keys

Suggested Keys: Key 1 (Additional Intelligence), Key 2 (Iced with Milk Foam), Key 6 (Absolute Concentration)

For her banner, she is great out of the box at V0. If you’d like to take her further you can get her V1, then her Signature Weapon Bittersweet Caramel before going for V2. V2 increases her ability to intercept 3 times. V6 is her next big breakthrough allowing for 4 interceptions and able to keep up her first skill.

This removes the reliance upon her second skill to raise her confectance index.

For teams? She’s very good at filling in for most teams as the primary or secondary damage dealer. Robella can raise her damage output.

Event Structure and Objectives

  • Mission-Based Gameplay: The event revolves around completing specific missions and objectives tailored to the Rhapsody Quartet theme. These missions will test both strategy and platoon efficiency.
  • Challenge Mode: Advanced challenge missions provide opportunities to earn additional resources and rare items.

Papasha: A Unique Addition

Papasha, a new character, is being introduced alongside the Platoon system. Here’s what makes her special:

  • Duplicate Rewards: Papasha and her signature weapon will primarily be obtained through the Platoon system.
  • Strategic Impact: Based on early previews, she’s expected to shine in team-oriented formations, enhancing platoon versatility.
  • She is voiced by Sumire Uesaka

Papsha can be acquired for free by playing with your Platoon each Gunsmoke Frontline event and exchanging the points for her.

Suggested Keys: Key 1 (Glory With Us), Key 2 (Vow to Defend), Key 6 (Strength in Unity)

Her Svarog weapon is one of the best SMGs in the game to give to other units, especially when they’re fighting with something suboptimal. It also is acquired from the Platoon shop and is worth giving to someone else at max rank, while Papasha is given a Classified Manuscript to work with.

Tololo Rate-Up Banner

To top it all off, Tololo’s rate-up banner is going live with this update. If you’ve been eyeing this powerful unit, now is the time to test your luck and recruit her.

Final Thoughts

This update is shaping up to be one of the most significant for GFL2 yet, with features that appeal to both seasoned commanders and newcomers. Whether you’re looking to optimize your strategy with the Platoon system or expand your roster with new characters, there’s plenty to be excited about.

Stay tuned for more updates, and happy commanding!
