New episodes stream on Crunchyroll Fridays worldwide
On September 26, 2025, the production committee for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End confirmed that Season 2 will begin airing January 16, 2026. Episodes will broadcast weekly on Fridays at 11 p.m. JST across Nippon TV’s national network. Crunchyroll will stream the series worldwide starting from its premiere.
Frieren returns Jan. 16 at 11 p.m. JST.
Season 2 brings back Madhouse with a familiar team at the helm. Tomoya Kitagawa directs with Keiichiro Saito serving as chief supervisor, continuing the strong creative hand behind the adaptation. The new key visual places Frieren, Fern, and Stark in a crystalline magical setting, teasing the journey ahead.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End was a highlight of the Fall 2023 anime season, delivering some of Madhouse’s most consistent animation in years alongside an excellent narrative and character designs. Its return in early 2026 sets the stage for a strong year of anime. While not the same genre, Frieren’s seiyuu Atsumi Tanezaki also returns as Anya Forger in Spy x Family Season 3 next month.
