A fresh trailer showcases Tomoro, Gekkomon, and the darker e-Pulse setting ahead of the October premiere.
Trailer
A brand-new trailer for Digimon BEATBREAK has dropped, giving fans their clearest look yet at the world, characters, and themes of the upcoming series — including a first taste of the opening theme, Mad Pulse by MADKID.
Premise & Setting

In this new Digimon universe, e-Pulse — a form of energy generated by human thoughts and emotions — powers an AI assistance device called Sapotama. From the consequences of this innovation emerge terrifying monsters, which evolve by consuming e-Pulse.
The story follows Tomoro Tenma, an ordinary teen whose life changes when their Sapotama produces Gekkomon, a Digimon partner. Tomoro soon joins the bounty-hunting group Glowing Dawn, which includes Kyo Sawashiro, Reina Sakuya, and others. Together, they face the emerging threats and navigate what a future shared by humans and Digimon might look like.

Why This One Looks Different
Here’s what sets Beatbreak apart from recent Digimon entries:
- The centrality of e-Pulse and the Sapotama suggests a theme of how human emotion, AI, and technology intertwine.
- The mood is darker, with the threat emerging from innovations that should help, echoing modern anxieties about AI and emotional data.
- Kenji Watanabe’s Digimon designs give the series a strong visual pull, combining familiar aesthetics with new twists.
Editor’s Take
Digimon BEATBREAK is shaping up to be one of the more intriguing entries the franchise has seen in years, with its focus on e-Pulse and the uneasy balance between humans, AI, and Digimon. The trailer makes a strong case for its cast and tone, and the music already feels like it will stick with fans.
I plan on watching it myself when it premieres, and I hope the team finds success with this series as well as with Digimon Story Time Stranger, which also arrives in October.
