Bandai Namco and Rebel Wolves have dropped a 21-minute gameplay overview of The Blood of Dawnwalker, offering a first deep dive into its mechanics, systems, and moody worldbuilding.

Gameplay Overview

Premise

Set in plague-ravaged 14th-century Europe, The Blood of Dawnwalker thrusts players into a dark era where the Black Death thins the human herd—and ancient monsters finally step into the light. Vampires and other creatures of the night rise to reclaim what they believe is theirs, rewriting history as they tear it apart.

You take on the role of Coen, a newly turned Dawnwalker: a being suspended between the mortal world and vampire curse. Coen’s path is yours to shape—cling to what’s left of his humanity or lean into the monstrous strength that could save his family… or doom them.

Design Highlights

Choice-Driven Narrative

  • Decide what Coen becomes. Hunt your sire out of revenge, fight for your bloodline, or forge your own legend. Your choices matter, and the world won’t wait for you to make them.

Dual Worlds: Day vs. Night

  • Two timelines, two playstyles. By day, rely on steel and sorcery; by night, awaken your vampiric powers. The world changes with the light—and so do you.

Time Pushes Forward

  • Every quest consumes time. Every decision reshapes your path. Save one village, and another might fall. The villain moves while you do. No rewinds. No safe choices.

Dynamic Combat

  • Slash, cast, and shapeshift. Coen’s form alters between day and night, unlocking different abilities, movesets, and tactical options. Adapt to survive, or perish trying.

A Living World

  • From haunted ruins to wild forests and medieval strongholds, the game’s handcrafted open world promises secrets, side stories, and ancient horrors waiting off the beaten path.

Unreal Engine 5 Visuals

  • Next-gen visuals bring this grim, broken world to life—showcasing Rebel Wolves’ commitment to building a new RPG legacy from the ground up.
