IOI Interactive Releases Updated PC Specs for 007: First Light

The updated 007: First Light PC specs have been officially revealed by IO Interactive, providing a detailed look at what is required to run the latest James Bond title on the Glacier engine.

The requirements span four distinct performance tiers, ranging from a basic 1080p experience to a high-refresh 4K Ultra setting that utilizes the latest hardware.

007: First Light PC Hardware Requirements

007: First Light requires a minimum of 80GB of SSD storage and a 64-bit version of Windows 10 or 11. While the lower tiers remain accessible for older hardware, the top-end Ultra settings demand significant power. The 007: First Light PC specs show a massive jump in hardware requirements for 4K Ultra gameplay.

007: Last Light Features & Accessibility Options

IO Interactive is focusing on modern technical features for this release. The game supports an uncapped framerate and includes Nvidia DLSS 4.5. This tech includes Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation and Super Resolution. Note that DLSS is not enabled by default for the Minimum, Recommended, or Enthusiast categories according to the official chart.

A post-launch update scheduled for Summer 2026 will add Path Tracing and DLSS Ray Reconstruction. Accessibility options are also present. These include:

  • Full input remapping and toggle options for activations.
  • Audio profiles and mono output toggles.
  • Menu narration for English.
  • Autocomplete options for certain quick-time events.

007: First Light PC Specs | Editor’s Take

The 007: First Light PC specs show a huge delta between the baseline and the Ultra tier. Seeing an RTX 5080 listed as the requirement for the 200+ FPS Ultra setting confirms that IOI is pushing the Glacier engine to its technical limits. The 32GB RAM requirement for that top tier is becoming a new standard for many modern titles.

We will be watching the Linux compatibility for this release. Since recent IOI titles have performed well on Proton, I expect this to hit a Gold rating or higher on Linux. The inclusion of DLSS 4.5 is a strong indicator of the performance overhead expected. If the Path Tracing update delivers on the visual promises made in the teaser, this could be a new benchmark for PC hardware testing. It is not quite as heavy as the original Crysis, but it shows Glacier2 has legs compared to unoptimized Unreal Engine 5 titles that ship with traversal stutter and shader compilation issues.

007: First Light launches on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC vita Steam May 27. Switch 2 version arrives late summer.
