Our Phaetusa GFL2 guide analyzes the highly anticipated Blade Sentinel who brings a unique dual-neural mechanic and massive burst potential to Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium.
The Antiparallel Part 2 update introduces Phaetusa, an experimental Sangvis Ferri-built frame housing two distinct personalities: the gentle human enthusiast Phaetusa and the aloof Sangvis Doll Sweeper. On the battlefield, this dual nature translates into a complex but devastating melee kit that rewards careful management of her Blade Resonance mechanic.

Phaetusa Overview

Human enthusiast meets abandoned Sweeper.
Phaetusa is an Elite melee Sentinel who uses the Blade Resonance system to unleash massive burst damage. While her base attacks are relatively weak while building stacks, consuming them with her Ultimate results in some of the highest single-target and AoE damage spikes in the game. Her unique Form Reversion mechanic allows her to literally revert her physical state, stats, and cooldowns after acting, making her a high-skill ceiling unit that demands strategic planning.
- Seiyuu: Ryoka Yuzuki
- The Role: Melee Burst Sentinel / Blade Resonance Specialist.
- Stat Priorities: Attack Boost, Attack, Crit Rate, Crit Damage
- Recommended Attachments: Close Assault, Phase Strike (efficiency), Corrosion Boost
Phaetusa’s Skills & Keys
Phaetusa features a kit designed to build momentum before executing a massive sweep. Her passive grants Infection Index based on melee damage, triggering Support Actions when allies land AoE attacks. Her primary loop involves using Overwrite Trap to apply Laceration to the field and gain Command Follow-up, eventually consuming all stacks with her Ultimate, Twofold Rapture, for immense Corrosive melee damage.
Understanding Phaetusa’s Keys
- Wandering Resolve (Core Key): Consistency tool. At the start of the turn, applies Laceration to all enemies on the field for 1 turn (triggers once every 2 turns).
- Drifter’s Resolve (Core Key): Critical ceiling. Upon first reaching the maximum stacks of Blade Resonance, increases Critical Rate by 20%.
- Blade of Doom (Core Key): Duelist scaling. If an active attack hits only one enemy target, damage dealt to it is increased by 15%.
- Something from Nothing (Common Key): Resource management. Increases Crit Rate by 5%. When Confectance Index reaches 0 in the current round, increases damage dealt by 10%.
Situational Pick:
- Keeper of the Boundary (Core Key): Utility choice. Before performing a Support Action, dispels 1 buff from the target. Essential for Enemy Dispel mechanics.
Phaetusa Banner Notes

Armed to the teeth meets the person from my dreams.
Phaetusa’s banner debuts alongside Groza and Colphne. While she is functional at base, the following breakpoints dramatically alter her rotation and weapon synergy.
Phaetusa Vertebrae Breakpoints
- V1: The primary stopping point. Replication Trap skill increases to Level 2. For every 2 uses of this skill, she gains an additional stack of Blade Resonance and a permanent 15% critical damage buff.
- R1: Greatly increases her personal damage scaling. This milestone makes her signature weapon significantly more impactful on her total output.
- V3: Escort skill reaches level 2, allowing Phaetusa to use it twice per battle. After gaining Return Form, increases Attack by 50% for 1 round.
- V4: Twin Paradise now Lv2. Damage multiplier is increased to 120%. For each Blade Resonance consumed, increases the damage multiplier by 20% instead.
Disclaimer:
V1 is a perfectly comfortable stopping point. For most players, V0 to V3 is the optimal investment. Only push for V6 if you intend to use a dedicated corrosion team.Priority: V1 > R1 >V3, V4
Phaetusa Team Recommendations
While she can act as a general melee carry, Phaetusa shines when she has allies who can trigger her Support Actions via AoE attacks or benefit from her Laceration debuffs.
The “Resonant Sweep” Squad
- Main DPS: Phaetusa (V1+)
- Sub-DPS: Klukai (V6)
- Support: Mechty
- Sustain: Lind
- Strategy: Klukai and Mechty provide the constant AoE damage required to trigger Phaetusa’s Support Actions. Lind acts as the frontline anchor, allowing Phaetusa to safely build her Blade Resonance stacks before executing her Twofold Rapture burst cycle.
Cause & Effect | Phaetusa’s Signature Weapon

Superior workmanship meets the Cinderthorn sword.
- Effect: Increases Corrosion damage by 15% to 30%. If an active skill deals no damage, the next attack gets a 15% to 30% Critical Damage boost.
- Trait: Flat 5% AoE damage increase. Dealing Corrosion damage adds another 5% AoE damage bonus.
- Imprint: Grants 2.5% extra damage against targets with Corrosion debuffs and 2.5% extra damage against PMC units.
The Verdict: This weapon is her best-in-slot and is highly recommended to acquire after hitting V1 rather than pushing for V2. If you skip the banner, Ullrid’s Rectrix, Krolik’s Crowned Jakelope, Gray Thorns, Pluma Edge, and Hare are all usable alternatives.

Closing Thoughts | Phaetusa Breakdown
Phaetusa is a highly technical Sentinel who rewards players willing to manage her Blade Resonance economy and Form Reversion mechanics.
