Rockstar Games has announced its acquisition of Video Games Deluxe, a Sydney-based development studio best known for its work on L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files and enhancements for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. Following the acquisition, the studio will be renamed Rockstar Australia.
Founded by L.A. Noire creator Brendan McNamara, Video Games Deluxe has collaborated with Rockstar for years. The acquisition formalizes that partnership, with Rockstar Games’ head of publishing Jennifer Kolbe stating:
“After working together closely over many years, we are excited to have Video Games Deluxe join the team as Rockstar Australia.”
McNamara added that it has been an “honor” working with Rockstar, and he looks forward to continuing their efforts to create high-quality games under the new banner.
This move strengthens Rockstar’s global presence and signals continued investment in narrative-driven and immersive experiences.
